Mad Men Catch, Barbie Short Changing Bosom
I’m so sick and tired of children’s toys misrepresenting the female figure. The usual culprits, Mattel and Barbie, are at it again offering our children unrealistic ideas of a body’s image for young women, by completely offering this gross and belittling misrepresentation of actress Christina Hendricks. Hell, she’s only on a current and popular television series and was just the cover girl goddess of New York Magazine. Her tits are MUCH larger than that. What pure audacity to present this completely unsuitable representation, when the real life model for the for the figure is ideal-defined.
If you’re Mattel this is what you do, because no overly annoying, flat (and likely chubby) parent with entirely too much time on their hands ass can ever insinuate that Mattel exaggerated a Hendricks figure, as I don’t think there is enough vinyl supply too pull such a worthy feat off even if they wanted to.
Oddly enough, I would have probably posted this at BSCkids if it weren’t for the real-life images of awesome that is Hendricks (whose claim to fame includes several TV roles in great shows – Mad Men, Firefly – and being mentioned in the earliest writings here at s6s), which speak for themselves and certainly are something – real – we all should aspire to. Or at least look at.
*You can read the NY Times article about the limited toy line itself, it’s actually a pretty decent read and spoke to the collector in me.
